About Us

We're a small team with big hearts, a background in tech, and a love for the outdoors.

Before starting BarkFriends, we built software for companies like American Express, NASA, and global eCommerce platforms. We've spent years building tools that make life simpler, more intuitive, and more connected.

In 2020, we swapped our London laptops for a life in the Italian Alps, closer to the mountains, snow, and fresh air. It didn't take long before we decided to bring a dog into our lives. Meet Reese. But what should have been a joyful experience quickly became a frustrating one.

Finding a breeder was confusing, scattered across outdated websites, inactive listings, and language barriers. We weren't sure who was accepting new applications, how to join a waitlist, or even what was expected of us as first-time owners. We learned the hard way that buying a puppy isn't as simple as sending a message, and understandably so. Good breeders are protective of their dogs and their programs, and they receive far more inquiries than they can handle.

This imbalance, between serious would-be owners and overwhelmed breeders, creates a poor experience for both sides. There's a lot of waiting, second-guessing, and stress.

So we started BarkFriends.

Our goal is to make this process better, more transparent, more educational, and more human. For prospective owners, BarkFriends helps you figure out what kind of dog is right for your lifestyle, what to expect, and how to prepare physically, mentally, and financially for this life-changing step. For breeders, we're building tools that reduce administrative headaches, managing inquiries, contracts, and payments, while bringing in more qualified, better-prepared families.

We believe that finding the right dog, from the right breeder, is one of the most meaningful decisions someone can make. BarkFriends exists to make that process smoother, smarter, and kinder, for everyone involved.
